| Description Small & Medium Enterprises Focus Group Presents: Talking Point - An Interactive Forum Making Better Hiring Decisions: 5 Ways to Increase Your Hit Rate This event will suit business managers who want to improve their hiring decisions. In SMEs, one wrong hiring of a key position can really hurt the business and yet smaller companies often don't have the time, resources or knowledge to implement comprehensive selection processes. This session will allow participants to reflect on their own perspectives and practices of talent assessment, and to explore cost-effective alternatives that can dramatically increase the accuracy of hiring decisions. What is Talking Point? Talking point provides a forum for business owners and professionals to discuss challenges, and share experiences and tips on surviving and succeeding in China's business environment. Meetings are interactive and participatory so please come with ideas, questions and stories to share with the group. Roundtable Discussion Leader: James Morley-Kirk, Director & Partner, China Select James is a business psychologist from the UK. Based full-time in Shanghai with China Select, he works on talent assessment projects, ATS systems design, training, psychometric research and test sourcing. James's business experience began in Asia, in 1990, when he joined the Swire Group's international management team in Hong Kong. Since then he was been Marketing Director for a US-based Internet start-up, GM of a leadership consultancy in Shanghai, and co-founder of China Select. Before all this, he also squeezed in 6 years as an officer in the Royal Corps of Signals. James holds an MSc in Occupational Psychology from the University of Nottingham, is a graduate member of the British Psychological Society and founder of the Shanghai Network of Business Psychologists. |
